Filip Widomski

Filip is an Associate Lawyer at LD Law LLP. He has many years of experience in Criminal Defence, Family Law, and Wills and Estates planning. In addition, Filip is also available to provide advice on landlord-tenant issues and real estate matters as well.

He is a confident, compassionate and empathetic lawyer, who received his Honours Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University in Political Science and his Master of Arts in Political Economics and International Relations from the University of Waterloo. He then earned his LL.B. from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in London, England, a member of the prestigious Russell Group of Universities. While in the U.K., he successfully participated in and represented clients in some of the largest and far-reaching global law firms in areas ranging from housing and employment to international business and trade.

He began his Canadian legal career as a criminal defence lawyer, first in London, Ontario before moving to one of the largest and most prominent criminal defence law firms in Toronto. He has extensive knowledge of criminal procedure, from bail hearings to trials, and has successfully defended clients with varying criminal charges including, but not limited to, provincial offences, assaults, drug possession, drug trafficking and firearms-related offences. He is a strong proponent for mental health awareness and has a unique understanding of the importance of working hard and taking care of oneself in body and mind.

Outside of work, you will find him mountain biking and jogging, practicing yoga and mindfulness, or simply out for coffee with close friends and family.
